Vision and Expansion: A Regional Hub

Prime Agro-Farms Uganda Ltd views Nakitooma not just as a ranch, but as a dynamic center for agricultural development. The future plans for the ranch are highly ambitious and strategically aligned with advancing Uganda’s livestock sector

1. Regional Training Centre

The ranch is set to be transformed into a Regional Training Centre for Livestock Breeding and Animal Health. This initiative will position Prime Agro as a leader in disseminating best practices, offering essential practical and theoretical training to farmers, students, and agricultural extension workers across the region

2. Abattoir and Diversification

Plans are underway to establish a modern abattoir on-site. This key addition will enable the farm to integrate value addition into its beef operation, ensuring traceability, quality control, and direct access to high-value markets. Furthermore, the ranch will diversify its livestock profile by adding a dedicated Sheep and Goat Farm, catering to the growing demand for small ruminant products

3. Fodder Security

To ensure sustainable and uninterrupted feed for its expanding livestock operations, the ranch will establish 100 acres of animal fodder production. This investment is crucial for buffering against seasonal weather variability in the cattle corridor and maintaining animal nutrition year-round

Prime Agro Ranch – Nakitooma is clearly transitioning from a large-scale commercial ranch to a diversified, vertically integrated agricultural enterprise poised to become a central pillar for livestock innovation, training, and value addition in the Nakasongola region and Uganda at large
